With the recent release of Doom of Mokhaiotl’s Combat Achievements, the OSRS community is once again reminded just how brutal endgame content can be. If you’re wondering what the most punishing CAs in the game look like – including these new Delve challenges – you’ve come to the right place.
If you’re reading this, you’ve probably already knocked out most of the “easy” Combat Achievements and now you’re staring at the real monsters – the Grandmaster tier CAs that separate the casual grinders from the absolute legends. Maybe you’ve got that Zuk Helm in your sights, or you’re just a masochist who enjoys digital suffering.
After helping hundreds of players tackle the most punishing content OSRS has to offer, we’ve identified which Combat Achievements will actually test your limits (and which ones might drive you to quit the game entirely). This isn’t a guide for beginners – this is for players ready to face the most technically demanding, RNG-dependent, and downright brutal challenges the game has to offer.

The Reality Check
Let’s be brutally honest: if you’re not already comfortable with advanced PvM mechanics, perfect prayer switching, and frame-perfect timing, you’re not ready for this content. These aren’t participation trophy achievements – they’re designed to humble even the most experienced players.
The Combat Achievements we’re covering here represent hundreds of hours of practice, countless failed attempts, and the kind of dedication that makes your friends question your life choices. But for those who push through, the rewards go beyond just completionist bragging rights.
Why These CAs Matter
Beyond the obvious flex factor, these achievements teach you mechanics and strategies that’ll make you a genuinely better player. The precision required for Grandmaster CAs translates directly into better performance across all PvM content. Plus, let’s be honest – there’s something deeply satisfying about completing content that 99% of players will never even attempt.
But here’s the practical side that many players overlook: the tier rewards are genuinely game-changing, especially at the highest levels. While the lower tiers provide solid quality-of-life improvements, it’s the Master and Grandmaster tiers where the real power unlocks.
Master Tier (1878 points) – This is where Combat Achievements transition from convenience to genuine power:
- Enhanced Slayer Tasks: TzTok-Jad and TzKal-Zuk slayer tasks are increased to 2 kills per task, making these high-value assignments much more rewarding
- Like a Boss Enhancement: Boss kill limits increased to 60 kills (+25 increase) when assigned a boss task
- Ghommal’s Lucky Penny: A 5% chance to not consume charges when using charged items like jewelry and weapons – this saves significant money over time
- Thrall Duration: Summoned thralls last 100% longer than normal, effectively doubling their utility for PvM content
- God Wars Dungeon Benefits:
- Boss entrances now require only 25 follower kill count instead of 30
- Ecumenical key drop rate increased from 1/50 to 1/45
- Private instance cost reduced from 125,000 to 100,000 coins
- Slayer Helmet Variants: Ghommal or Laidee Gnonock can create a vampyric slayer helmet for you
Grandmaster Tier (2604 points) – The ultimate endgame rewards that separate the legends from everyone else:
- Maximum Slayer Efficiency: Boss kill limits reach their peak at 65 kills (+30 increase) when assigned boss tasks
- TzKal-Zuk Task Bonus: Slayer tasks for both TzTok-Jad and TzKal-Zuk are increased to 3 kills per task
- God Wars Dungeon Mastery:
- Boss entrances require only 15 follower kill count instead of 25 – making GWD incredibly accessible
- Ecumenical key drop rate reaches its maximum at 1/40
- Private instance cost reduced to just 75,000 coins
- The Ultimate Flex: Laidee Gnonock can create the TzKal slayer helmet for you
- TzKal Slayer Helmet Power: The ability to show off your TzKal slayer helmet to TzHaar-Ket-Keh, gaining on-task damage bonuses for TzHaar Fight Cave and Inferno without any other on-task benefits like slayer experience
The progression isn’t just about bragging rights – at Master and Grandmaster tiers, you’re literally unlocking the most efficient way to play endgame content. The Grandmaster benefits alone can save hundreds of hours and millions of coins over time.
The Smart Approach
Before we dive into the specific challenges, here’s our advice:
- Master the basics first – If you’re still learning standard rotations, work on those before attempting these
- Invest in proper gear – These challenges require optimal setups, not budget alternatives
- Set realistic expectations – Some of these CAs can take days or weeks to complete
- Know when to get help – There’s no shame in using professional services for the most time-consuming or frustrating achievements
Grandmaster Tier: The Ultimate Test
Doom of Mokhaiotl – “Duel of Mokhaiotl”
Defeat the Doom of Mokhaiotl levels 1-8 whilst only damaging the boss with one-handed melee attacks. This restriction forces you into a very specific combat style, requiring careful weapon selection and strategy. The Doom is weakest to crush weapons, so using an Inquisitor’s mace with Inquisitor’s armour is highly recommended for maximum accuracy and damage.
The key challenge comes after delve level 6+ where the player’s damage output becomes severely hampered by shield and barrow phases. Players need to be extremely mindful to avoid taking too much damage during these phases. This achievement pairs well with Mine’s Better, allowing the use of shields with strength bonuses like the Toktz-ket-xil and dragonfire shield.
Doom of Mokhaiotl – “It’s Dark Down Here”
Defeat the Doom of Mokhaiotl at delve level 16. This is a pure stamina test that pushes your endurance and consistency to the absolute limit. At delve level 16, every mechanic is amplified and the margin for error becomes razor-thin. You’ll need flawless execution across all phases and the mental fortitude to maintain focus through an extremely long encounter.
Doom of Mokhaiotl – “Doom Racer”
Defeat the Doom of Mokhaiotl levels 1-8 in less than 7 minutes and 15 seconds. This speedrun CA demands optimal strategy, perfect execution, and some RNG cooperation. Time-saving strategies include bringing a dedicated melee switch for melee punishes instead of just a melee weapon, using super strength potions, and intentionally letting the Doom charge to full during shield phase while tanking the beam at delve levels 3-5.
The beam deals 60 damage at delve level 3 and 80 damage at levels 4 and 5. While risky, this strategy can be extended to delve level 6 and above if you can overheal beyond 99 hitpoints. Every second counts in this achievement.
Doom of Mokhaiotl – “The Praying Mantis”
Defeat the Doom of Mokhaiotl levels 1-8 without restoring your prayer points through any method. This achievement requires extremely careful prayer management and strategic use of prayer-boosting effects. Killing the Doom with a melee punish will fail the achievement if holy water restores prayer points, but it won’t fail if your prayer points are boosted.
Use the ancient mace special attack on a combat dummy before every attempt to maintain prayer boosts as long as possible. If your prayer falls below the threshold, you can unequip your weapon and punch/kick to avoid dealing enough damage to finish the boss. Saradomin brews can still be used, though you’ll need regular restore potions instead of super restores.
Doom of Mokhaiotl – “Darkness Is Your Ally?”
Defeat the Doom of Mokhaiotl levels 1-8 without equipping a demonbane weapon. Since demonbane weapons aren’t allowed, you cannot use weapons like the scorching bow, darklight, and purging staff to destroy incoming demonic larvae. This forces a minimum of two hits (four for large larvae at delve level 8) for ranged and melee demonic larvae.
Use ranged weapons with fast attack speed like darts and knives, and multi-hit weapons for melee such as sulphur blades and dual macuahuitl. The Doom’s charge during shield phase can only be reset by casting demonbane spells, which require non-demonbane staves to autocast (skull sceptre or slayer’s staff). Players should ignore grubs outside of shield phase unless too many leak through.
Doom of Mokhaiotl – “Mopping up”
Clear at least 8 acid splats in a single Volatile Earth special attack. This achievement requires perfect timing and positioning during the Volatile Earth phase. Acid splats appear whenever the Doom takes damage, starting at delve level 3. These splats accumulate throughout the encounter, so attempting at lower delve levels using low damage hits like thralls or multi-hit weapons creates more splatter opportunities.
The splats are wiped clean during each delve level transition, so make note of their positions. The earthen shield special attack triggers three auto-attacks after the volatile earth spawns, and you’ll need to position yourself to hit the earthen shield earlier at lower delve levels. The timing varies with delve level: 2 slams at level 3-6, 3 at 5-6, 4 at 7, and 5 at 8+. Each slam deals around 35+ damage if unprotected, so prepare to eat up to full if the attack sequence ends early.
Yama – “Speed-Runner”
Defeat Yama in an average time of under 2:34 over your last four kills. This speedrun CA requires consistent fast execution across multiple attempts, as it calculates the average of your most recent four kills rather than requiring a single perfect run. The time constraint effectively mandates having a partner to complete the achievement efficiently.
Key strategies for maximizing speed include flexible instance management (players don’t need to stay in the same instance for all four kills and can teleport out after a kill to restart with full supplies), optimal spellbook setups using runes for Spellbook Swap, Vengeance, Resurrect Greater Ghost, Mark of Darkness, and Death Charge to maximize damage output.
Vengeance timing is crucial – cast it before starting the kill without standing on a glyph to recoil damage back. For Meteor Strike in phase 2, both players must stand in the center to split the damage to 80 each. Judge self-bombing involves standing under the Judge of Yama before it attacks so the fireball lands directly on you. Special attack optimization includes using soulflame horn then switching to burning claws immediately after the special attack to guarantee your partner gets the dragon warhammer/elder maul special. Surge potions and Death Charge can significantly increase usable special attacks, especially in phase 3.
For melee phase 3, using methods like the donofly and dumping special attacks without breaking combat cycle will substantially improve your chances of achieving fast kill times.
Yama – “Contractually Unbound”
Defeat Yama under the elevated conditions of one of his non-standard contracts. While this sounds intimidating, we recommend using the Forfeit Breath contract as it doesn’t significantly change the core fight mechanics compared to the original encounter. The elevated conditions add challenge without completely overhauling what you already know about the fight.
Theatre of Blood – “Perfect Theatre”
Complete the Theatre of Blood without anyone dying through any means and whilst everyone on the team completes the following Combat Achievement tasks in a single run: “Perfect Maiden”, “Perfect Bloat”, “Perfect Nylocas”, “Perfect Sotetseg”, “Perfect Xarpus” and “Perfect Verzik”.
This is arguably one of the most demanding CAs in the entire game. It requires not just personal perfection, but perfect coordination from your entire team across every single room. One mistake from anyone and the entire run is ruined. You’ll need a highly experienced team that has mastered every mechanic and can execute flawlessly under pressure.
TzKal-Zuk – “Wasn’t Even Close”
Kill TzKal-Zuk without falling below 50 hitpoints at any point during the Inferno run. This CA transforms the entire Inferno into a health management puzzle where every single wave becomes a potential run-ender.
The early waves demand extreme caution since every Inferno monster hits devastatingly hard. Later waves become exponentially more dangerous with multiple monsters using different combat styles that can easily combo you out if their attacks aren’t properly defended against. The primary threats involve double Jal-Aks, Jal-Zek with Jal-Xil combinations, or any grouping of the three monster types that can overwhelm your prayer switching.
Your healing strategy becomes critical – always top off to full health (and overheal when possible) before starting each wave to minimize any chance of dropping below the 50 hitpoint threshold. Once Jal-Zek mages appear, having Protect from Magic active before wave start becomes mandatory, as the mager’s max hit of 70 will instantly disqualify you if you’re not fully boosted above 120-121 hitpoints.
During Zuk’s wave, damage becomes more predictable but no less dangerous. When Zuk summons his Jal-MejJaks, their blasts won’t void the achievement if they drop your health below 50, since it’s not a targeted attack. However, any other monster attacking you off-prayer while your health is below 50 will void the achievement immediately.
TzKal-Zuk – “Nibbler Chaser”
Kill TzKal-Zuk without casting any spells in the Inferno. This restriction fundamentally changes your approach to healing and utility, forcing you into a pure ranged and melee strategy.
Since Blood Barrage can no longer restore health, you’ll need alternative healing methods including Saradomin godsword (which also restores prayer), ancient godsword (less efficient), or toxic blowpipe for its passive healing effect. Chinchompas or venator bow become essential for clearing Jal-Nibs efficiently without spell support.
The achievement description mentions no spells can be used, but there are important exceptions. Summoning thralls and Death Charge will not cause the achievement to fail. Similarly, the Eldritch nightmare staff special attack doesn’t fail the task despite being a targeted attack that calculates damage based on magic level and strength – this provides crucial prayer restoration when other methods aren’t available.
TzKal-Zuk – “Playing with Jads”
Complete wave 68 of the Inferno within 30 seconds of the first JalTok-Jad dying. This achievement tests your ability to manage multiple Jads simultaneously under extreme time pressure.
Since healers spawn when each Jad reaches half health, the optimal strategy involves triggering healer spawns for each Jad before killing the first one. Kill or trap each set of healers as they spawn, then carefully lower each Jad’s health while ensuring not to kill any prematurely. Once all three Jads have spawned healers and had their healers dealt with, you can swiftly kill each Jad in rapid succession to meet the time constraint.
TzTok-Jad – “No Time for a Drink”
Complete the Fight Caves without losing any prayer points. This CA requires avoiding all Tz-Kihs throughout the entire run, as getting hit by even one will fail the task whether or not it drains prayer points, automatically disqualifying you from the achievement.
The strategy revolves around safespotting as many monsters as possible, especially the dangerous Ket-Zeks which can deal massive damage if their attacks aren’t properly protected against. Prayer flicking remains allowed and essential for completing the task. Bringing gear with high prayer bonuses provides a crucial buffer before prayer is drained, giving you some forgiveness if you make prayer flicking mistakes.
Thralls can be summoned without failing the task, providing additional DPS throughout the caves. Players can be resurrected via Karamja Elite Diary reward and remain eligible for the task completion. Notably, the task won’t complete if you hop worlds during the attempt, but logging out without failing the task is permitted.
TzTok-Jad – “Fight Caves Speed-Runner”
Complete the Fight Caves in less than 26 minutes and 30 seconds. This speedrun CA demands optimal strategy and execution throughout all 63 waves, with particular focus on efficient time-saving techniques.
Rotation 5 is highly recommended for this achievement due to having the best spawn configurations, particularly wave 62 which has both magers spawn close together. Pre-potting with stamina potion, divine super combat potion, and divine ranging potion before entering provides crucial early-game advantages. Imbued heart or saturated heart can extend thrall duration during initial waves for additional DPS.
Wave management becomes crucial for time efficiency. Memorizing spawn locations and optimal positioning for each wave eliminates wasted movement. The Fight Caves Spawn Predictor plugin provides invaluable assistance by displaying next wave spawns, allowing you to position optimally before each wave begins.
Key time-saving strategies include positioning yourself between high-HP NPC spawn points and weaker NPCs while staying close enough to attack when waves start. This lets you begin attacking and dragging high-HP NPCs toward weaker ones immediately. Early wave blob management involves killing large blobs early to attack other targets while waiting for them to split into bloblets.
Always end waves by killing bats and bloblets last, as their death animation is 2 ticks faster than other NPCs, combined with the fact they can be clumped and eliminated simultaneously with chinchompas. Advanced techniques include chinning multiple targets when possible and using claw special attacks on meleers before wave 31, switching to blowpipe specials for healing afterward.
Death Charge should be used constantly throughout the caves, ideally before speccing to shorten cooldowns and restore special attack energy when mobs die. Optimal special attack usage on wave 2’s single blob and wave 6’s double blobs can provide early DPS advantages, though the ranger on wave 7 dies quickly to blowpipe regardless.
TzKal-Zuk – “Facing Jad Head-on II”
Kill TzKal-Zuk without equipping any ranged or mage weapons before wave 69. This restriction forces you into melee distance for the majority of the Inferno, making an already brutal challenge exponentially harder. The positioning and timing required for this achievement pushes even the most skilled Inferno runners to their limits.
Theatre of Blood: Hard Mode – “Harder Mode III”
Defeat Verzik Vitur in the Theatre of Blood: Hard Mode without anyone attacking her with a melee weapon during her third phase. This restriction forces your team to rely entirely on ranged and magic damage when melee would normally be optimal for the final phase.
The challenge lies in maintaining DPS while dealing with all of Verzik’s mechanics from a distance. Your team positioning becomes even more critical, and the fight duration increases significantly, giving more opportunities for mistakes.
Theatre of Blood – Speed-Running Challenges
Three separate CAs that all revolve around completing ToB within strict time limits:
- “Theatre (5-Scale) Speed-Runner” – Complete ToB (5-scale) in less than 14 minutes and 15 seconds
- “Theatre (4-Scale) Speed-Runner” – Complete ToB (4-scale) in less than 15 minutes
- “Theatre: HM (Trio) Speed-Runner” – Complete ToB Hard Mode (Trio) with an overall time of less than 23 minutes
These achievements require not just mechanical perfection, but also optimal gear, perfect team coordination, and advanced strategies. Every second counts, and there’s no room for mistakes or hesitation. The margin for error is razor-thin, especially on the Hard Mode trio speedrun.

Fortis Colosseum
“Slow Dancing in the Sand” – Defeat Sol Heredit without running during the fight with him. This forces you to rely entirely on precise positioning and timing without the safety net of mobility. Every dodge must be perfectly calculated since you can’t simply run away from danger.
The player can easily avoid three of Sol’s attacks by walking away one tile; the only problem will be his second shield bash, as this requires the player to be at least two tiles away from him to avoid getting hit. With some luck and supplies, one may successfully tank the second shield bash throughout the fight. It is also possible to “pre-move” following a first shield bash to cover for the possibility that the next attack will be a second shield bash. The player must walk one tile away from Sol at the same time as he starts the animation for the second attack. This will result in Sol staying in place and the player reaching a position where they can escape a second shield bash in time without running.
“Perfect Footwork” – Defeat Sol Heredit without taking any damage from his Spear, Shield, Grapple or Triple Attack. This requires frame-perfect timing and complete mastery of all Sol Heredit’s attack patterns. One mistimed dodge and you’re starting over.
“Reinforcements” – Defeat Sol Heredit with “Bees II”, “Quartet” and “Solarflare II” modifiers active. This mechanical achievement requires defeating Sol Heredit with three specific modifiers that significantly complicate the encounter.
Quartet causes a single Fremennik warbander to appear at the start of the wave, while Bees II spawns two sets of bees that slowly home on the player. The bees persist throughout the entire fight, so killing them off is mandatory, ideally with a scythe to avoid unnecessary swaps. Solarflare II is less of an issue if the player knows where to avoid standing.
Solarflare III and/or Bees III may also be taken for this task, but the latter should only be taken if it is the least harmful of the offered handicaps.
“Colosseum Speed-Runner” – Complete the Colosseum with a total time of 24:00 or less. Before you panic, let me put this in perspective: compared to other Grandmaster speedruns, this time limit is surprisingly forgiving. You don’t need billion-gp setups – even mid-tier gear like Osmumten’s fang and venator bow with Bandos can comfortably hit this benchmark.
The real time-savers aren’t about having perfect gear – they’re about perfect execution. Wave solving and stack management are where seconds turn into minutes. Running pillars constantly is a massive time sink; if you’re doing it more than twice per kill, you’re bleeding time unnecessarily. Same goes for pillar stack setups – take too long positioning and you’ve already lost the speedrun.
Tick efficiency becomes your obsession, especially at wave starts where every wasted animation matters. The venator bow’s double bounce mechanic is particularly valuable in early waves – focus on waves 5 and 6 if you’re just trying to hit the time threshold rather than going for record times.
There are advanced techniques like setting up complex melee offticks or hitting pillar stacks before south spawns that can push your times even lower, but honestly? Nail the basics – quick wave solving, maintaining high combat stats, and eliminating wasted ticks – and you’ll cruise past that 24-minute mark without breaking a sweat.
God Wars Dungeon
General Graardor – “Keep Away” – Kill General Graardor in a private instance without taking any damage from the boss or bodyguards. The challenge here isn’t just avoiding Graardor himself – it’s managing a chaotic four-way dance where every minion wants a piece of you.
Your approach depends entirely on your combat style. Ranged and magic users have the luxury of distance, letting them focus on precise positioning while dealing consistent damage. Ice Barrage becomes your best friend here, freezing Graardor in place while you methodically clear his bodyguards. The trick is maintaining that perfect distance where you can attack but stay out of melee range.
For the truly masochistic, there’s a tick manipulation method involving Sergeant Strongstack and Grimspike. Since both minions are surprisingly accurate, you need to prayer flick their attacks on different ticks. It’s technically possible but requires the kind of precision that makes most players question their life choices.
General Graardor – “Defence Matters” – Kill General Graardor twice consecutively without taking bodyguard damage. This CA tests your stamina and consistency over multiple kills. The bodyguards respawn with each Graardor kill, so you’re essentially proving you can execute the “Keep Away” strategy back-to-back without mistakes.
The extended focus strategy works well here – keep minions alive but low health after your first Graardor kill, then freeze Grimspike in position so the remaining minion can be prayer flicked correctly. It’s all about maintaining control across multiple encounters without letting fatigue destroy your precision.
K’ril Tsutsaroth – “Demon Whisperer” – Kill K’ril without ever being hit by his bodyguards. This is where the 5:0 method with Tumeken’s shadow truly shines. You’re essentially playing a deadly game of keep-away while K’ril’s minions try to close the distance.
The strategy revolves around powerful ranged weapons and smart positioning. Your damage output needs to be high enough to kill K’ril efficiently while maintaining enough defense to block most minion attacks. Prayer flicking becomes crucial since you’re managing multiple threats with different attack speeds and patterns.
There’s also a more advanced approach using prayer flicking to offset minion attacks perfectly. Start under either the mage or ranged minion so one attacks a tick later, then use precise timing to protect against both while focusing K’ril down. It’s technically demanding but incredibly satisfying when executed correctly.
Commander Zilyana – “Animal Whisperer” – Kill Zilyana without taking damage from her or her bodyguards. The kiting method is your salvation here, particularly for managing Starlight, the melee bodyguard who becomes harmless if you maintain proper distance.
Twisted bow or Tumeken’s shadow are ideal for quick kills that minimize exposure time. The key insight is that Starlight can never hit you if you’re constantly moving, while Growler and Bree require active prayer switching and positioning to avoid their ranged attacks.
With some RNG luck, you can occasionally kill Zilyana before her bodyguards become a major threat. There’s also an alternative method where you kill either Growler or Bree immediately after Zilyana respawns, then prayer against whichever bodyguard does respawn. This gives you more time to execute the kiting strategy without prayer switching stress.
Kree’arra – “Feather Hunter” – Kill Kree’arra 30 times in a private instance without leaving the room. This isn’t about mechanical difficulty – it’s about resource management, endurance, and not going completely insane from repetition.
The chinchompa method with black chinchompas is your most efficient approach, but you’ll need serious ranged gear to make this economically viable. Understanding Kree’arra’s mechanics becomes crucial since you can’t bank for supplies – every mistake compounds over 30 kills.
Prayer restoration becomes a critical resource puzzle. You’ll want to bring as many prayer restoration potions as possible since Kree’arra doesn’t drop anything useful for supplies. Budget gear makes this achievement borderline impossible due to the resource drain over such an extended period.
For the mage approach, Tumeken’s shadow with Eldritch nightmare staff provides solid sustainability. Freeze Flight Kilisa whenever possible and position carefully to minimize damage from both Kree’arra and his bodyguards. Blood barrage helps with health restoration, while the Eldritch staff’s special keeps your prayer topped off.
The real challenge isn’t any individual kill – it’s maintaining focus and efficiency across 30 consecutive encounters. Your supply management needs to be perfect, and there’s no room for major mistakes that waste resources you can’t replace.
Corrupted Gauntlet – Speed Running Challenges
“Corrupted Gauntlet Speed-Runner” – Complete a Corrupted Gauntlet in less than 6 minutes and 30 seconds. This speedrun CA pushes your Gauntlet optimization to the absolute limit, requiring perfect room routing, flawless resource management, and zero mistakes during the Hunllef fight.
The key to success lies in your preparation phase efficiency. Every second spent gathering resources needs to be calculated – you can’t afford to over-prepare or waste time on unnecessary upgrades. Room prioritization becomes crucial, focusing on high-tier resource rooms while avoiding dead ends that cost precious seconds.
During the Hunllef encounter, your DPS uptime needs to be near-perfect. Prayer flicking, optimal positioning, and executing either the standard mage/range rotation or the advanced 5:1 method separate good times from record times. There’s absolutely no room for tanking unnecessary damage or missing tick-perfect attack cycles.
“Crystalline Gauntlet Speed-Runner” – Complete the Gauntlet in less than 4 minutes. While the regular Gauntlet is more forgiving than its corrupted counterpart, this time limit still demands exceptional execution and route optimization.
The strategy involves even more aggressive resource management since you need fewer upgrades to handle the regular Hunllef. Focus on minimal viable gear while maximizing your movement efficiency between resource nodes. Every animation cancel and optimal pathing decision compounds into significant time savings.
Desert Treasure 2 Bosses: The New Endgame Nightmares
The Desert Treasure 2 bosses brought some of the most mechanically demanding Combat Achievements OSRS has ever seen. These encounters don’t just test your clicking speed – they demand perfect understanding of complex mechanics, flawless execution under pressure, and the kind of mental fortitude that separates legends from pretenders.
The Leviathan – “Unconventional”
Kill the Leviathan using only mithril ammunition whilst having no more than 25 hitpoints throughout the entire fight. This achievement transforms the Leviathan encounter into a terrifying tightrope walk where every single attack could end your attempt instantly.
The restricted ammunition forces you into a much longer fight with significantly reduced DPS, meaning more opportunities for mistakes. Your health management becomes absolutely critical – one moment of inattention or a failed prayer flick will void the achievement immediately.
The strategy revolves around bringing yourself down to the required health threshold before engaging, then maintaining that razor-thin margin throughout the encounter. Self-damaging items like locator orbs or dwarven rock cakes help you reach the threshold, but after that, it’s pure skill and nerve.
Due to mithril ammunition’s pathetic damage output, expect significantly longer kill times. Toxic blowpipe with mithril darts, zaryte crossbow with mithril bolts, or even twisted bow with mithril arrows become your weapons of choice. The low damage means multiple stun phases and extended exposure to the Leviathan’s devastating attack patterns.
The Leviathan – “Leviathan Speed-Runner”
Kill the Leviathan in less than 1 minute and 10 seconds, without being on a slayer task. This speedrun transforms the Leviathan fight into a pure DPS race where every tick matters and there’s zero room for defensive play.
The optimal approach involves bringing multiple Ruby dragon bolt (e) procs with a Zaryte crossbow for maximum early-game damage, then switching to elite void and other max-hit gear for the enrage phase. Vengeance becomes crucial for reflecting damage, and thralls provide consistent DPS throughout the encounter.
Spellbook Swap allows access to both thralls and vengeance in the same fight, maximizing your damage potential. The Leviathan’s relatively predictable attack patterns make this one of the more achievable speedrun CAs, but the margin for error remains unforgiving.
Duke Sucellus – “Mirror Image”
Kill Duke Sucellus whilst only attacking the boss on the same tick that he attacks the player. This achievement requires perfect timing and complete mastery of Sucellus’s attack patterns, turning the entire fight into a deadly rhythm game.
The strategy involves using a five-tick weapon pre-enrage, then swapping to a four-tick weapon during enrage to match Duke Sucellus’s attack cycles. Weapons like Scythe of vitur excel pre-enrage, while Emberlight becomes ideal during the enrage phase.
Advanced players can attempt the recoil-only method, using rings of suffering and vengeance to kill Sucellus without ever directly attacking him. This approach requires precise timing, massive supply investment, and nerves of steel.
Duke Sucellus – “Duke Sucellus Speed-Runner”
Kill Duke Sucellus in less than 40 seconds, without being on a slayer task. This speedrun demands optimal gear, perfect execution, and a deep understanding of Sucellus’s mechanics to maximize every second of DPS uptime.
The key insight is that the timer starts when Sucellus wakes up, not during preparation. This allows for extensive pre-fight setup including extra potions and positioning. Scythe of vitur becomes essential for its slash accuracy and high damage output, while vengeance and melee thralls provide additional damage sources.
Special attack timing becomes crucial – Bandos godsword specs can lower Sucellus’s defense significantly, while surge potions and burning claws provide burst damage windows. Every special attack needs to be perfectly timed to maximize the brief encounter duration.
The Whisperer – “Dark Memories”
Kill the Whisperer whilst spending less than six seconds in the Shadow Realm prior to her enrage phase. This achievement requires perfect Shadow Realm navigation and optimal mechanic handling to minimize time spent in that dangerous alternate dimension.
The challenge lies in managing three distinct Shadow Realm mechanics while spending minimal time in each phase. Shadow Leeches can be completely avoided by predicting corrupted seed patterns, Soul Siphon can be ignored at the cost of health and sanity, and Screech requires perfect timing to observe and escape quickly.
The Whisperer – “Whisperer Speed-Runner”
Kill the Whisperer in less than 2 minutes and 5 seconds without being on a slayer task. This speedrun requires exceptional gear and near-perfect execution, as the tight time limit leaves no room for mistakes or hesitation.
Tumeken’s shadow with maximum magic damage gear becomes essential, as other weapons deal significantly lower DPS against the Whisperer’s defenses. Multiple enchanted ruby bolt activations can provide crucial early damage, while double vengeance on melee attacks adds substantial damage reflection.
The key to success lies in maintaining constant aggression while perfectly managing the Whisperer’s special mechanics. Every second spent on defensive play or inefficient positioning costs valuable time in this unforgiving speedrun.
Vardorvis – “Vardorvis Speed-Runner”
Kill Vardorvis in less than 55 seconds without being on a slayer task. Despite the seemingly generous time limit, this speedrun requires optimal gear and flawless execution to overcome Vardorvis’s high defense and health pool.
The strategy revolves around maximizing slash accuracy and damage output through weapons like the soulreaper axe or scythe of vitur. Enchanted ruby bolts with zaryte crossbow can provide massive early damage, while strength and slash bonuses ensure consistent high damage throughout the fight.
Resource management becomes critical since you need sustained high-intensity combat without banking. Prayer restoration, special attack energy, and health management all need to be perfectly balanced across the encounter duration.
Vardorvis – “Axe Enthusiast”
Kill Vardorvis after surviving for 3 minutes during his enrage phase, whilst never leaving the central quadrant of the fight area. This endurance challenge tests your ability to maintain perfect positioning while handling Vardorvis’s most dangerous mechanics for an extended period.
The achievement requires triggering Vardorvis’s enrage phase, then surviving in the central area while he throws everything at you. Axes will constantly spawn and threaten your position, while Vardorvis’s increased attack frequency and damage make every mistake potentially fatal.
Defensive gear becomes crucial for sustained survival, while prayer management and food efficiency determine whether you can maintain the three-minute duration. The psychological pressure of maintaining perfect positioning for such an extended period often proves more challenging than the mechanical execution.
When to Consider Professional Help
Some of these achievements require such specific circumstances, perfect execution, or incredible time investment that many players find it more practical to use specialized services. This is particularly true for:
- CAs requiring perfect team coordination
- Achievements with heavy RNG components
- Content that demands hundreds of practice attempts
- Challenges that require optimal gear you don’t own
The Bottom Line
These aren’t casual achievements – they’re designed for players who’ve already mastered the fundamentals and are looking for the ultimate challenge.
